Hi guys! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with friends and family, I had such a lovely day, Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
As I mentioned at the end of Blogmas, things are changing for me right now and I wanted to give you guys a quick update, so that’s what’s happening now, I’ll try not to waffle for too long.
Since I started using OmniFocus way back in October time, I’ve been doing really well in regards to my blogging (at least in terms of consistency). I managed to sustain my schedule of three posts a week without even breaking a sweat.
However, the New Year is bringing a lot of changes in my life and the frequency of my posting is going to have to change. Rather than just telling you what’s happening on the blog I’m going to give you a full sort of life update explaining the projects I’m taking on this semester and the things I’m letting go of.
I know this is the area you all actually care about, so let’s start here. For the past couple of months I’ve been posting every Monday Thursday and Saturday. Starting today, I’m downsizing to two posts a week on a Tuesday and a Friday, with the occasional bonus book review thrown in. I’m hoping that this will allow me to maintain (or maybe even improve) the quality of my posts, without losing my mind.
This semester I’m really going to try and get ahead of my university work as the in-semester assessments this term nearly killed me. Pray for me guys, I really need to pass this semester!
My part-time job
As I’m only in uni three days a week this semester, I’ll be working in the daycare two days a week. This may be a temporary increase if I struggle to keep up with my school work, but at least for the beginning of the semester I’ll be working two days for somewhere between 6-9 hours a day – it’s a time-consuming job, but I love it (and I need the money).
My Speech and Drama School
I think I’ve alluded to this in some of my Blogmas posts, but I’m starting a Speech and Drama School in January that’s going to occupy a lot of my time (in a good way!) I’m very excited to get going with it, I’ve been talking about it for ages, but it is going to take a bit of legwork in the beginning otherwise known as time and energy!
I’ve been a leader in my church youth group for a number of years and have now inadvertently ended up running it. It takes a lot of time in my week and oodles of planning that I didn’t really have available this year, but definitely need to anticipate in 2018.
My Etsy store
Now on to the things I’m letting go of this coming year, the biggest one being my Etsy store. Although I loved creating products, it’s a very time-consuming process and so just isn’t the most effective use of my time.
I will be leaving all my listings up until they expire, but I’m not going to be posting anything new and will most likely be removing my shop in the not too distant future.
And there you have it. Essentially, all that will be changing for you guys is the frequency of my posts and the days they go live. It may also take me a little longer to respond to comments, but apart from that, I’m hoping for another really great year! I have a few really exciting series and post ideas up my sleeve that I can’t wait to share with you all, but that’s an announcement for another time.
I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying a little bit of downtime, but I’ll see you all on Friday!
