Today’s the day! For the first time in forever there’s a collaboration here on Miss Abigail, and I couldn’t be doing it with a better princess. This Disney princess themed tag was created by Of Stacks and Cups way back in 2015, so we’ve taken the liberty of updating it a little! As a die-hard Disney fan, it’s hard to believe that I haven’t done this tag yet, but at last I see the light, and I’m happy to be finally rectifying that (especially because there’s the very lovely Moana themed edition answered by the lovely Mandy over at BookPrincessReviews… You’re Welcome).
We’re almost there, let’s get started! (Major points if you’ve spotted all the Disney puns)
3 Princess Facts:
- My favourite princesses are Aurora and Belle, it completely depends on the time of day which I will say is my ultimate favourite. Right now, it’s Aurora… no wait Belle… no wait…
- Most of the music on my phone is dominated by Disney soundtracks, at the moment it’s Moana, but I’m also a die-hard fan of the Frozen, Princess and the Frog and Brave soundtracks as well.
- I don’t think I’ve ever watched Pocahontas or Mulan the whole way through. I’ve seen the rest of these movies, but I think I only watched those two in snippets on TV – I need to rectify that soon!
Snow White – What is your favourite classic?
Usually, I’d say Wuthering Heights, but that seems far too depressing for a post involving Disney Princesses! Instead, I’ll go with another of my favourites, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I first read this when I had to study it at GCSE. Since then, I think I must have read it 4/5 times and watched the movie double that – I always have time to swoon over Gregory Peck.
Cinderella – What book kept you up past your bedtime?
Hands down, it has to be the Hunger Games trilogy. I read all three books in the space of two days with only 4 hours of sleep from around 6:00am and 10:00am. This was the first series I ever marathoned and definitely the only series I’ve marathoned in that short a time frame.
Aurora – What is your favourite classic romance?
I’m not a fan of purely romance books at the best of times, and classical romance definitely isn’t my genre. The closest I can get I’m afraid is Dreamology by Lucy Keating (definitely not a classic, but it’s romance through and through). This was such a cute book, I didn’t read anything else for a week afterward just so my mind could remain in the adorableness of the story. Definitely a great read for some light relief and TLC.
Ariel – Name a book about making sacrifices and fighting for your dreams.
I know you’re all going to be sick of my talking about this book, but I just have to… A Street Cat Named Bob. It may seem random, I know, surrounded my contemporary fiction, but I promise it fits. This is a true story of sacrifice and fighting to live a better life. It was so wonderfully inspiring, not my typical read, but just wonderful to experience!
Belle – Name a book with a smart, independent female character.
Another recurring theme on this blog is my love for Illuminae – so, surprise surprise, it makes it on to the list. You’d be hard-pressed to find a character as smart, funny and bad ass as Kady Grant – I like to think if she were real we’d be friends, but I know I’m in no way cool enough.
Jasmine – Name a book with a character that challenged the social conventions of their world.
Yes, I did it, I just used The Selection in a book tag. Even though America Singer is one of my most hated characters of all time, I still somehow enjoy this series, and there’s no way to dispute that (in spite of all her flaws) she changed the structure of her world.
Pocahontas – Name a book where the ending is a whole roller coaster ride of emotions.
This one took me a long time to come up with, but I’ll have to go with The Sun Is Also A Star. I really appreciated the ending of this book, it was very realistic and stopped the romance from being too insta-lovey, but at the same time I really wanted them to be together, but I didn’t, but I did… either way, the epilogue was a nice consolation.
Mulan – Name a book with a kick-ass female character.
The first person that springs to mind is Mare from Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I love a good kick-ass female protagonist and Mare definitely fits the bill… she’s tough, she doesn’t let love stand in her way, and she’s just generally amazing!
Tiana – Name a book with a hardworking self-made character.
Another slightly random choice for this one, but I think I’m going to go with Mark Watney from The Martian. Mark is just one of those characters who just never gives up, he throws himself at every challenge that faced him and saved his own butt. It’s because of his own determination that he’s alive at the end of the book – plain and simple.
Rapunzel – A book that featured an artist.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of a really amazing book that features an artist, but I did come up with one… I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson. Personally, I always preferred the chapters from Jude’s point of view, but they’re both artists so it’s perfect for this tag.
Merida – Name a book that features a mother/daughter relationship.
My all time favourite from this year is perfect for this tag, Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. Due to the tiny pool of characters in this book, the mother-daughter relationship has become very important. And, for those of you’ll who’ve read the book, will agree it had it’s ups and downs.
Anna and Elsa – Name a book with a great relationship between siblings.
Whenever I talk about family dynamic in a review, I always compare it to one series that is fantastically executed… To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. It’s gorgeously realistic; they bicker, they fall out, but they still stick up for each other and do nice things to please their sisters – so much cuteness!
And now the part you’ve all be waiting for, it’s time to hear from the lovely Mandy!
Moana – Your favourite beach read.
I think it’s so cute you guys did a collaboration and made a Moana one. Is she a proncess? I have no idea. I honestly haven’t watched a Disney Princess movie in so long, not counting Frozen bc it was bootleg and my niece wanted to see it. So I’m sad, I need to catch up!

I love all things Disney, especially Disney princesses lol. So, this tag is pure awesomeness. I especially love your choice for Belle. Kady Grant is one of my favorite heroines. She’s funny, independent, and very intelligent! Also, I liked Mare Barrow too! I know many people don’t like Red Queen, but I thought Mare was a pretty kicka** chick 🙂 I haven’t read many of the others, but they all seem very promising. Cute post, Abigail!
P.S. Your photoshop skills are on point. I LOVE this format.

Loved this tag! It’s funny because I read both To kill a mockingbird and Wuthering Heights simultaneously for two different GCSEs 😂😂

Oh. My. Goodness. Can we just talk about how pretty you formatted your post?? Literally, it’s so cute and perfect – it’s like a Disney Princess of posts. XD As you can tell, I loved the books and princesses put together. Anyhoo, moving onnnnnn, the Hunger Games were such a binge read for me, too, but you totally put me to shame. I admire that binge reading dedication. XD I had a hard time with the artist one as well. Are there not enough artist protagonists or are we just missing them all? I’m definitely spotting a few books I need to add to my TBR, though. Great post, and this was so much fun to work together on this!! ❤

My favorite Disney Princess of all time is definitely Belle. Every time I take a Disney Princess or character quiz, my result is always Belle. And I definitely agree with you about Mare from Red Queen, and America from the Selection series.
